Missing Jacob

I painted this after the death of my beloved Jacob. Pets bring so much joy into our lives. Jake was the constant steady in my chaotic life. No matter how bad a day, I'd come home to that familiar face and all was right with the world again.
Jake was the best dog that ever owned me. I thank God that beautiful creature graced my life for 9 years. His love and loyalty to me were unconditional.
I adopted another dog from the shelter. Jake would want me to rescue another dog, just like I did him.
I miss you Jacob! Thank you for loving me.

Spoon Jewelry

I have a new obsession with making jewelry from spoons. I use the handle, the bowel, every part. I just love them.

I taught myself how to etch the metal using ferric chloride. Smelly, but fun and limitless.
Soldering paste is my new best friend, not that I'm cheating on my beloved drill press which I could not live without. Lol!

The choices in supplies makes my brain race and my heart leap with joyful anticipation. I truly have no favorites when it comes to tools and supplies.

Check out My Art on th scroll bar to go to my Flickr page to see all the latest jewelry I've been making. Too much to post here.

I really hope to get the web at my house in the boonies soon. It is such a pain to update all of you from the library. I miss posting everyday and keeping in touch with all of you on Flickr. You know who you are. Plus I begin to forget what I've made since my last postings. I do create everyday, even if it is doodles or sketches for future creations.

I miss all of you, am praying for all of you, and love all of you.

Snowmen

It has been so much fun making these snowmen. Each one seems to have his own personality and decorating them is limitless.

Not my own idea. I got it from last years issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors. My own take is a lot different than theirs when it comes to embellishment. The possibilities are such a challenge. To the point of driving my Spud (husband) nuts, as I raid the garage to find stuff to decorate them with. Poor Spud is learning that the garage is not his. Lol! Nothing is sacred from a creative mind. Especially mine. Water faucet handles, door knobs, fuses, springs, and stuff I don't even know what it's called.

I hope all of you are raiding anything that looks cool and can be up-cycled. I love the challenge in that and hope you do too.

Miss Kitty

Do you ever have that one little treasure stashed somewhere, that you absolutely love, but don't know what to use it on? Well the Kitty button face was one of mine, until I found this odd shaped piece of wood for the body. I stared at that piece of wood and then it was, OH! OH! I got it!

She looks oblivious to the bird in her pocket or maybe the paw prints are from her stuffing Tweety in there. LOL! I must be loosing it. Well okay for those who know me well, I lost it a long time ago. Life's too short to be too serious.

Have a create day! Love you all-Nina

Jewelry Display

This is a jewelry display I made for the art show. The antique doll was missing her legs. I knew I put off sewing her new ones for a reason. I covered the top and bottom of the lamp shade frame with antique lace, so necklaces would not slide or scratch. She is mounted to an antique spool that slides onto the handle of a two tiered serving dish. I cut the top plate off, leaving the rod in the center. I love the look of the pounded copper plate. It helped keep the piece looking old and is great to set rings, bangle bracelets, ect.. on.

This is a fun project, and I hope it gives you a lot of ideas, now go create! I love you all.

God Bless- Nina

I miss everyone sooo much. I still do not have inter net at my new house. I have been so busy this past month. My first art show is going to be at Florabunda Gardens in Oswego, Illinois. I am scared and excited all at the same time. If you live in the area please come. It is on May 8, 2010 from 9-5. Florabunda Gardens is at 2093 Collins Road. My friend and owner Nancy has beautiful annuals and perinials to buy. Nancy is a beautiful person. If it was for her incouragement I could never do this. Thank you Nancy!

I have to go for now. God bless all of you! Oh click on my flickr link to see all my new stuff.

New House

Hello Everyone!

I moved in April/May to a house out in the country. I still have not found an inter net provider, so I'm at the library right now. SIGH! I miss all of you very much!

The good news is the Mess room is now bigger. Yeah! The bad news is I don't know how all that stuff fit in the old mess. I don't have everything in the new room and yet it's already full and I haven't gotten anything new. (Scratch head!) Maybe it's that time of the month and The Mess is bloated. LOL! It's a mystery.

I have to go for now, the dog is waiting for me. He's been quite a Ma-ma's boy with the new move and all. Stay creative while I'm temporally exiled from the WWW.

God Bless all of you and yours-
Nina
